Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1950 Ford Custom Tudor sedan has been with the seller’s family since new and is powered by a rebuilt 239ci flathead V8 engine backed by a three-speed manual transmission. Features include hood and fender ornaments, a color-matched windshield visor, new upholstery, and new tires. Finished in blue over a black vinyl and multi-colored cloth interior, this Ford is available now and comes with a clear North Dakota title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The exterior has been repaired and refinished in blue. Features include chrome bumpers, a chrome grille, hood and fender ornaments, a color-matched windshield visor, and V8 emblems. The seller states that the paint and bodywork restoration is hobby-level quality and the body blemishes are minor but noticeable. Additionally, there are dimples in both bumpers, the doors need to be adjusted, the latch for one of the vent windows is missing, and the rear bumper chrome has dulled. An exterior walk-around video can be seen below.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of blue steel wheels is wrapped in new whitewall tires. A whitewall spare along with a jack assembly can be found in the trunk.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The front bench seat and the rear seat have been reupholstered in striped tan cloth with black vinyl trim. According to the seller, the carpeting has been replaced but shows wear. Features include manual steering and brakes, a column-mounted shifter, manual windows, a heater, and a radio block-off plate.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

An inoperative 100-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, battery, and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 5,500 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. The seller reports that the odometer reflects the mileage logged since the engine rebuild.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a rebuilt 239ci flathead V8 engine and backed by a three-speed manual transmission. In the fall of 2022, the carburetor, points, and plugs were replaced; the generator was checked; and the radiator was flushed.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Ford was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums. A single exhaust system exits at the rear. The seller states that rust is present on the underbody and frame and can be seen in the additional undercarriage photos in the carousel to the right. Last fall, the zerk fittings were greased, the front wheel bearings were packed, the differential fluid was replaced, the brake system was serviced, and a new gas tank was added.
