OVERVIEW
This 1961 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 900 coupe received updates to the suspension, braking system, fuel system, and engine within the last six months. It draws power from a 165ci flat-six mated to a Powerglide two-speed automatic transaxle. Newer parts include an MSD ignition coil, the spark plugs, the fuel filter, and the exhaust system. In addition, the carburetors have been rebuilt. Finished in Almond Beige over a Fawn vinyl interior, this first-generation Corvair is now offered with parts receipts, the removed original parts detailed below, and a clear Texas title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The reportedly rust-free body was repainted the original Almond Beige (paint code 938) under prior ownership. Exterior features include quad headlights, a driver-side mirror, rocker moldings, and chrome bumpers. In the gallery to the right, the seller has provided close-up pictures of small blemishes on the body.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Later-model steel 13-inch wheels with wire covers and knock-off center caps are wrapped in 185/80R13 Maxxis MA-1 radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is fitted with Fawn vinyl bucket seats up front and a fold-down bench in the rear, matching door panels and dash, and contrasting dark brown carpeting. Amenities include an AM/FM/8-track radio, lap belts, Monza 900 badging, door sill plates, a dome light, and a spare tire in the front cargo area.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 35,600 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The air-cooled 145ci flat-six received a tune-up within the last six months that included an oil change, a distributor rebuild, replacement spark plugs, new 8-millimeter spark plug wires, a new exhaust system, and the installation of a new MSD ignition coil. The fuel system received a new fuel tank, lines, pump, and filter. In addition, the carburetors were rebuilt. Power is sent to the back wheels via a Powerglide two-speed automatic transaxle and a 3.55:1 rear end.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The suspension leverages newer KYB gas shocks up front and Monroe gas shock absorbers in the rear. The braking system received a new master cylinder, new wheel cylinders, and new brake shoes and lines along with fresh DOT 5 silicone brake fluid within the last six months.

@Daral – Is the cracked paint/ body filler in photo 10 from rust or previous accident damage Would you do a 2000 mile road trip to Canada in it? ...
The cracked paint/ body filler issue in photo 10: I don't think its body filler or rust as I have inspected the car top to bottom and found no evidence of rust anywhere...I also cleaned and detailed the complete underside of the car myself and found no rust at all other than light surface rust on the floor pan as you would expect on a 62 year old car and it cleaned up very easily. I've seen rust under paint before on previous cars I've owned and it (rust) doesn't look like this. Also with body filler, this doesn't have the same characteristics I've seen before. I think it's just cracked paint. Why this is, I don't know without taking the paint off and seeing what's under the paint. We bought the car already repainted and the previous owners said it was accident free. As for taking it on a 2000 mile trip....Short Answer I wouldn't ....It's 62 years old with original motor and trans. I have taken it on 50 to 60 mile road trips to car shows at nearby towns and back home with no problems....But 2000 miles NO I wouldn't. As for your next question about photo #9 yellow discoloration, I think it's from when they buffed the new paint through to the original paint when the previous owner had the car painted. This is the only area I've seen and you wouldn't notice it unless it was pointed out to you.
