OVERVIEW
This 1936 Ford pickup rat rod has been driven 405 miles since the build was completed. It receives power from a 350ci small-block V8 mated to a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission and a Positraction rear end. Equipment includes a custom boxed frame, bomber bucket seats, a removable steering wheel, a Lokar shifter, and a tilt-up cargo bed with newer wood planks. Finished in a brown patina with a satin finish over an aluminum and black cloth interior, this modified pickup is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear Montana title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
Exterior features include a brown patina with a satin finish, an open-design front clip, a chopped cab roof, side-exit exhaust outlets, dual A-pillar-mounted mirrors, shaved door handles, and Cadillac taillights mounted at the upper rear of the cab. The bed floor is lined with newer wood planks and tilts upward to expose the fuel cell and battery.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Polished aluminum 15-inch deep-dish wheels are wrapped in 26" x 8" Mickey Thompson front and 29" x 18" Mickey Thompson rear tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior of the cab has been outfitted with riveted aluminum bomber bucket seats with black cloth cushions. The door panels, dash panels, shifter floor plate, and other areas of the interior were fabricated in a similar style. Features include a Lokar shifter, a removable steering wheel, a MiG fighter jet clock, and a battery cut-off switch behind the driver's seat.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 200-mph speedometer, an Omega Kustom Instruments 8K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges that show the oil pressure, coolant temperature, voltage, and fuel level. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 405 miles, indicative of the mileage accrued since the completion of the build. The selling dealer states that the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 350ci small-block V8 has been upgraded with Lakester headers, a high-rise Edelbrock intake manifold, dual Edelbrock 650-cfm carburetors topped with a tunnel ram setup, an aluminum radiator with an electric fan, and an Optima Redtop battery. Power is sent to the back wheels via a floor-shifted TH350 three-speed automatic transmission and a Positraction rear axle.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This pickup rides on a custom boxed frame. The suspension uses a torsion bar front end and leaf springs at the rear.
