1962 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL

OVERVIEW

This 1962 Lincoln Continental four-door sedan received recent work to the braking system and suspension and is powered by a 430ci MEL V8 mated to a twin-range Turbo-Drive three-speed automatic transmission. EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The Sultana White (paint code M) exterior features quad headlights, a driver-side mirror, rear-hinged rear doors, and a dual exhaust system. The selling dealer notes that there are small bubbles on the bottom edges of the doors, which are shown in the gallery to the right.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Steel 14-inch wheels with chrome Continental-branded hubcaps are wrapped in whitewall tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The interior is fitted with a power-adjustable Chestnut (trim code 89) leather bench seat up front and a stationary bench in the rear, matched to the dash, door panels, and carpeting. Features include woodgrain trim on the dash, door panels, and steering wheel, along with power windows, a push-button radio, folding center armrests, a heater, and floor mats.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 20,548 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be accurate.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 430ci MEL V8 was serviced within the last month, according to the selling dealer. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted twin-range Turbo-Drive three-speed automatic transmission.

UNDERCARRIAGE

Steering is power-assisted. Stopping is performed by power-assisted drum brakes. The selling dealer states that the front suspension, brakes, and wheel cylinders were serviced in 2021.
