This 1998 Chevrolet Corvette Indy 500 Pace Car Edition convertible is one of 1,163 produced to commemorate the 82nd Indianapolis 500 race held on May 24, 1998. It is powered by an LS1 5.7-liter V8 engine connected to a four-speed automatic transmission, which reportedly makes this one of 616 pace car editions made in that configuration. A 200-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, battery, oil pressure, and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 105,862 miles. The last reported mileage of 103,724 was logged on the CARFAX report on October 4, 2013.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by an electronically fuel-injected LS1 5.7-liter V8 engine and backed by a four-speed automatic transmission.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Corvette was factory-equipped with a four-wheel independent suspension and a rear drive axle. Braking is provided by four-wheel power discs. The exhaust exits at the rear through four outlets.
