Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1998 Chevrolet Corvette Indy 500 Pace Car Edition convertible is one of 1,163 produced to commemorate the 82nd Indianapolis 500 race held on May 24, 1998. It is powered by an LS1 5.7-liter V8 engine connected to a four-speed automatic transmission, which reportedly makes this one of 616 pace car editions made in that configuration. Power features include the windows, seats, mirrors, and locks. Additional features include dual-zone climate control, an AM/FM/CD stereo, and a tilt steering column. Finished in Radar Blue with pace car livery and equipped with a manual black convertible top over a black and yellow leather interior, this limited-production C5 Corvette comes from the selling dealer with a clean CARFAX report and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The Radar Blue exterior features multicolor pace car graphics, pop-up headlights, color-keyed power mirror caps, a manual black cloth convertible top with heated rear glass, and a color-keyed convertible top boot. A full walk-around video can be seen below.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of bright yellow five-spoke aluminum wheels is wrapped in Firestone Firehawk radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The bucket seats are upholstered in black and yellow leather. Power features include the windows, seats, mirrors, and locks. Additional features include dual-zone climate controls, an AM/FM/CD stereo, black floor mats with embroidered Indy 500 logos, a center console with a black leather armrest and an automatic shifter, and a tilt steering column.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 200-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, battery, oil pressure, and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 105,862 miles. The last reported mileage of 103,724 was logged on the CARFAX report on October 4, 2013.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by an electronically fuel-injected LS1 5.7-liter V8 engine and backed by a four-speed automatic transmission.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Corvette was factory-equipped with a four-wheel independent suspension and a rear drive axle. Braking is provided by four-wheel power discs. The exhaust exits at the rear through four outlets.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The CARFAX report starts in March 1998 and shows an accident-free history across ownership in Florida, Virginia, West Virginia, and Kentucky. A $145 dealer fee/tax will be added to the purchase price. The selling dealer will collect additional registration/sales tax from in-state buyers.
