@bartstens – Yes, for 1964, the '06' in the VIN denotes Spyder. But all Spyders were equipeed with Turbochargers, a dash with tach, manifold pressure and cylinder temperature gauges, and 4 speed transmissions. This Corvair has none of these. HOWEVER, it does have the single exhaust cut-out in the lower sheet metal which was found only on Spyders (top accomodate the fat single exhaust). So, while it was BORN a Spyder, it has been 'deSpydered' into an ordinary, non-turbo, PG Monza. Personally, without the turbo, 4 speed, and dash, I'd be hard-pressed to call it s Spyder. It remains a nice Corvair, but certainly a more pedestrian (ordinary) Corvair. ...
Thanks for the detailed summary of the work that has been done to the Corvair to ‘de-Spyder it. I would not have known any of it’s history without your input.

So is the car still Collectable ? Looks like a nice Corvair.

@Stauffcat – This car must have been modified then, because in addition, all 62-64 Spyders came with turbocharged engines. It looks like a very nice Monza, but not equipped as a stock Spyder. ...
Agreed, definitely was modified at some point in its life but it's a lovely car!
