Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This 1966 Pontiac GTO is powered by a rebuilt 400ci V8 engine backed by a four-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter. Features include a Tri-Power intake system, power steering, bucket seats, a center console, and a vintage-look AM/FM radio. Finished in metallic dark blue over a parchment vinyl interior, this GTO comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

This GTO was built in Baltimore, Maryland on the fourth week of September 1966 and was originally painted monotone Fontaine Blue (code D). The exterior is currently finished in metallic dark blue. Features include chrome bumpers, a hood scoop, dual rearview mirrors, rocker and wheel well trim, a fender-mounted antenna, and GTO emblems. A walk-around video can be seen below.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 14-inch steel Pontiac Rally I wheels with black center caps and bright trim rings is wrapped in Firestone Wide Oval redline radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

Originally upholstered in Dark Blue (trim code 219), the front bucket seats, rear seat, trim, and door panels are covered in parchment vinyl. Features include a center console with a Hurst transmission shifter, power steering, manual brakes and windows, rubber floor mats, a vintage-look AM/FM radio, a three-spoke steering wheel with a black grip, and simulated woodgrain accents.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and warning lights for the temperature, battery, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. An aftermarket set of three gauges for the oil pressure, coolant temperature, and amperage is located under the dashboard. The rolled-over odometer reads 102,018 miles, which the selling dealer reports to be accurate.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a rebuilt 400ci V8 engine and backed by a four-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter.  Engine bay features include a Tri-Power intake with tuned carburetors, chrome valve covers, and an upgraded ignition system.

UNDERCARRIAGE

@Biggame – Numbers matching or not? ...

A 66 would have had a 389. A 400 is great also though.
