Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This frame-off-restored 1959 Chevrolet 3100 shortbox truck has been with the seller for eight years. It is powered by a new 350ci V8 crate engine backed by a Hughes Performance 700R4 four-speed automatic overdrive transmission. Features include a Fat Man Fabrications Mustang II independent front suspension, a Ford nine-inch rear axle, dual VIAIR air suspension, a tilt steering column, and a wood bed floor. Finished in a beige faux patina over an off-white vinyl interior, this Chevrolet pickup is available now and comes with a two-year, 25,000-mile engine warranty and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the frame-off restoration completed in 2016, the exterior was finished in a beige faux patina. Features include chrome bumpers, a chrome grille and headlight rings, a driver-side rearview mirror, door lettering, light cream cab accents, a short Fleetside pickup box with a wood bed floor, and white tailgate lettering.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of chrome American Racing Boss wheels is wrapped in 245/40/18 front and 275/40/20 rear Hankook radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The bench seat is upholstered in off-white vinyl. Features include manual steering and brakes, manual windows, a vintage-look radio, a floor-mounted Lokar automatic shifter, a three-spoke billet steering wheel with a black grip, and fawn metallic interior metal surfaces.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A set of Classic Instruments Tach Force gauges, which includes analog readouts for the 140-mph speedometer, 8K-rpm tachometer, and fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and temperature gauges, is located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 2,109 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a new 350ci V8 crate engine and backed by a Hughes Performance 700R4 four-speed automatic overdrive transmission. Engine bay features include black valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, a Holley 670-cfm carburetor, a chrome air cleaner, a chrome alternator, and a Griffin polished aluminum radiator. The seller states that there is only one mile logged on the engine.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Chevrolet pickup chassis has been modified to accept a Fat Man Fabrications Mustang II independent front suspension with tubular control arms and a nine-inch Ford solid rear drive axle with Positraction and 3.83:1 gears. A dual VIAIR adjustable air ride suspension has been installed. Braking is provided by Wilwood 13-inch front disc brakes with six-piston calipers and rear drums. A dual exhaust system with Flowtech mufflers exits at the rear.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The video below shows a tour of the exterior, engine bay, and interior. A two-year, 25,000-mile engine warranty comes with the purchase of the truck.

@bch1012 – What's the fuel tank capacity? Do all the gages work properly? Is there any security precautions on the truck? Alarm system? Wheels? End gate? ...

All gauges work. Air ride gauges are hard line to the tanks.

@bch1012 – What's the fuel tank capacity? Do all the gages work properly? Is there any security precautions on the truck? Alarm system? Wheels? End gate? ...

Fuel tank is approximately 17.5 gallons. There’s a cut-off switch located inside the truck. There’s no car alarm. Both driver and passenger side doors have working locks. Usually when I go anywhere and leave the truck parked for an extended period of time I drop the truck to the ground.
