Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This frame-off restored 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 is powered by a 427ci big-block V8 backed by a manual four-speed transmission. Features include power steering and brakes, upgraded digital AM/FM/cassette stereo, tilt steering column and Yenko stripes. Finished in red with black vinyl interior, this 1968 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 396 is available now and comes from the selling dealer with a registration document from the state of Maine.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration 10 years ago, the exterior was finished in red. Features include white Yenko stripes, chrome bumpers, SS emblems, dual rearview mirrors, wheel opening moldings, and Yenko and 427 badges.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch Chevy Rally wheels, finished in silver with stainless center caps and trim rings, is wrapped in 215/60/R15 Grand Spirit G/T radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The front bucket seats, rear seat, trim, door panels and headliner are newly upholstered in black vinyl. Features include SYC headrest logos, power steering and brakes, manual windows, center console with manual shifter, and digital AM/FM/cassette stereo upgrade.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer, clock and fuel gauge are located ahead of the driver. With 200 miles logged since the restoration, the odometer reads 46,565 miles but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 427ci big-block V8 backed by a manual four-speed transmission. Underhood features include chrome valve covers, aluminum intake manifold, four-barrel carburetor, and chrome air cleaner. UNDERCARRIAGE

This Chevelle SS 396 is factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear-drive axle. Suspension upgrades include Hotchkis front springs and tubular upper control arms, rear springs, shocks and sway bar. The selling dealer states that a new fuel tank has been installed.
