OVERVIEW
This 1971 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40 4x4 comes from 40-year prior ownership and was recently imported to the United States. It is powered by a 3.9-liter 2F inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Recent work includes corrosion repair, an electrical system refresh, and a tune-up, and equipment includes aluminum wheels and locking front hubs. Finished in red with a white soft top over a gray vinyl interior, this FJ40 is now offered by the seller with import documentation, customs and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) paperwork, an invoice, and an international title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This Land Cruiser FJ40 received rust repair and a repaint under the seller’s direction following acquisition from its prior 40-year owner internationally. The exterior is finished in red with white accents and features a newer white canvas removable top. The glass and rubber were reportedly replaced as part of the refurbishment. Exterior features include a side-exit exhaust, a tow receiver, and a swing-away spare tire in a vinyl cover at the rear.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Cast aluminum 15-inch wheels are wrapped in Rydanz tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is fitted with gray vinyl bucket seats up front, inward-facing jump seats in the rear, and matching upholstery for the door panels and the upper dash pad. Equipment includes manual-crank windows, rubber flooring material, a floor-mounted emergency brake, and a cigarette lighter.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
According to the seller, the odometer and other gauges were replaced during the refurbishment process. Instrumentation includes a 160-KM/H speedometer along with gauges for the oil pressure, fuel level, coolant temperature, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 3,212 kilometers (1,966 miles); the true kilometrage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The carbureted 3.9-liter 2F inline-six received fluid changes, a tune-up, and a refreshed electrical system under the seller’s ownership. Power is sent to all four wheels via a floor-shifted four-speed manual transmission, a dual-range transfer case, and manually locking front hubs.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The brake system has been serviced.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The sale includes import documentation, customs and EPA paperwork to assist in United States registration, an invoice, and an international title. The seller has provided videos showcasing the vehicle's exterior, interior, and mechanical condition, including a start-up and a driving demonstration.
