Reserve Removed: 1966 Pontiac GTO

OVERVIEW

This restored 1966 Pontiac GTO is powered by a 389ci V8 engine backed by a two-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering and front disc brakes, bucket seats, a center console, an AM/FM stereo, a three-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim, and Cragar wheels. Finished in Barrier Blue Poly and equipped with a black vinyl top over a black vinyl interior, this GTO comes with a clear Montana title in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The Barrier Blue Poly exterior features chrome bumpers, a split black grille with silver trim, GTO emblems, a hood scoop, wheel well and rocker trim, a driver-side rearview mirror, a black vinyl top, and rear body trim. The seller states slight scratches are present on the door moldings.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch chrome Cragar wheels is wrapped in 205/60/15 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The front bucket seats and the rear seat are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include power steering and brakes, a center console with an automatic shifter, manual windows, factory air conditioning, an AM/FM stereo, and a three-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim. This GTO was factory-equipped with air conditioning, but that is currently disconnected and not working.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer,  fuel gauge, and warning lights for the oil pressure, temperature, and alternator are located ahead of the driver. An 8K-rpm tachometer is mounted under the dashboard. With 1,000 miles added during current ownership, the odometer reads 47,332 miles. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 389ci V8 engine and backed by a two-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, a chrome Edelbrock air cleaner, and cast iron exhaust manifolds. The seller states a new battery has been installed and a full service was performed in August 2022.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This GTO was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by new power front disc brakes and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
