OVERVIEW
This 1970 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am underwent a restoration in 2015. Power is supplied by a reportedly numbers-matching Ram Air III 400ci V8 paired with a numbers-matching Muncie M20 four-speed manual transmission. Features include front and rear spoilers, an AM/FM transistor radio, a dual exhaust system, and full instrumentation. Finished in Polar White with blue striping over a black vinyl interior, this second-generation Firebird is now offered by the selling dealer with PHS Historic Services documentation, a build sheet, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
Since undergoing restoration in 2015, this Trans Am has reportedly been garage-kept in Massachusetts. The exterior was repainted in its original Polar White (code 10) with blue stripes. Equipment includes a Shaker hood, vented fenders, dual color-keyed racing mirror caps, and a dual exhaust system. The selling dealer notes that there is some paint cracking on the front bumper.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The reportedly correct, KR-stamped 15-inch wheels with PMD center caps are wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cockpit is fitted with black (code 218) vinyl bucket seats up front and a two-seat rear bench as well as matching door panels, dash, headliner, center console, and carpeting. Music comes from a push-button AM/FM transistor radio and a single speaker mounted in the center of the dashboard.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The instrument panel features an engine-turned aluminum bezel and consists of a 160-mph speedometer, 8K-rpm tachometer, and supporting gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 15,000 miles, which the selling dealer says reflects 115,000 actual miles.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The reportedly numbers-matching Ram Air III 400ci V8 is topped by a functional Shaker hood scoop. Power is sent to the back wheels via a numbers-matching, wide-radio Muncie M20 four-speed manual and a 12-bolt rear axle with 3.73 gears.
UNDERCARRIAGE
