OVERVIEW
This 1987 GMC C1500 Sierra is a stepside short-bed pickup that has been performance-enhanced thanks to the installation of a big-block 454ci V8, a 750cfm carburetor, a Turbo 350 three-speed automatic transmission, and a Positraction 12-inch rear end. Finished in Black Metallic over a gray cloth interior, this modified Sierra is now offered in Nebraska with a clean CARFAX report and a clear Arkansas title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This Sierra stepside has a short bed body layout and has been resprayed in Black Metallic. Exterior features include a cowl hood, chrome bumpers, dual sideview mirrors, and a sliding rear window.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Chrome Cragar five-spoke 15-inch wheels are wrapped in newer tires, consisting of Starfire Solaris rubber up front and Hankook Kinergy tires in the rear.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior of the cab is trimmed with a gray cloth bench seat, complemented by black door panels and carpeting. Amenities include a custom steering wheel, lap belts, and all-weather floor mats.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes an 85-mph speedometer, a dash-mounted 8K-rpm tachometer, and under-dash gauges for coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 32,790 miles, although the CARFAX shows a mileage reading of 141,000 miles in 1994. True mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 454ci big-block V8 has been bored .030 over and is upgraded with a 750cfm carburetor, a three-inch exhaust system, and Super 40 Flowmaster mufflers. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted Turbo 350 three-speed automatic transmission and a 3.73-geared 12-bolt Positraction rear end.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The suspension uses drop spindles, Belltech shock absorbers, and a flip kit for a lowered stance. CalTracs traction bars provide traction assistance, and the brakes have been replaced under the seller’s ownership.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The CARFAX report shows no history of accidents or damage over the vehicle’s lifetime, with a gap in records between 1994 and 2003, then again from 2003 through 2015.
