OVERVIEW

This 1997 Dodge Viper GTS performance coupe has driven roughly 6,000 miles since new and is powered by an 8.0-liter V10 mated to a six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The forward-hinged clam shell hood opens to an 8.0-liter aluminum V10 that was rated at 450 horsepower and 490 lb-ft of torque. A service was completed in February 2023 per the selling dealer, and power is transferred to the rear wheels via a console-shifted Tremec T-56 six-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential with 3.07-ratio gearing.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The chassis uses a tubular space frame with a center spine structure. Stopping power comes from four-wheel ventilated disc brakes, and the suspension has adjustable gas shock absorbers along with power-assisted rack and pinion steering.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The CARFAX report shows no history of accidents or damage over the course of its lifetime. There is an open recall dated May 2002 regarding steering and differential frame repair, with a remedy available. A California emissions inspection was completed in April 2022.
