OVERVIEW
This restored 1959 Chevrolet El Camino is powered by a NOS 409ci Chevrolet V8 crate engine, with a tri-power intake manifold and Rochester carburetors, backed by a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. Features include four-wheel power disc brakes, Dakota Digital gauges, Vintage Air climate controls, power steering, power windows, a power bench seat, and a tilt steering column. Finished in Chameleon with light blue and dark blue vinyl with tri-tone cloth inserts, this rust-free 1959 Chevrolet El Camino is available now and comes from the selling dealer with restoration notes, service records, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the restoration, the exterior was refinished in Chameleon. Features include new one-piece chrome bumpers, a new custom tube grille, shaved hood emblems, new full-length body side trim, new dual rearview mirrors, a black spray-in bedliner, a shaved tailgate, LED taillights, an LED license plate light, and new chrome exterior door latches and handles.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of black steel wheels, with Corvette hubcaps, is wrapped in whitewall radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The power bench seat is upholstered in light blue and dark blue vinyl with tri-tone blue cloth inserts. Features include power door and vent windows, power steering and brakes, a floor-mounted shifter, a tilt steering column, an Impala-style steering wheel that is a smaller diameter than original, Vintage Air climate controls, and an AM radio.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A set of Dakota Digital gauges with digital reads-outs for a speedometer, an 8K-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, voltage, temperature, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 300 miles which the selling dealer reports to be accurate.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a NOS 409ci Chevrolet V8 crate engine, with a tri-power intake manifold with Rochester carburetors, backed by a Muncie four-speed manual transmission. The selling dealer states that the 409 V8 engine was an NOS crate engine that sat unused for 45 years and was inspected and refurbished by Total Engine Service. Engine bay features include black aluminum valve covers with polished fins, a polished air conditioning compressor, a chrome alternator, an aluminum radiator, and chrome air filters.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This El Camino is equipped with an independent front suspension, with new CPP two-inch drop spindles and CPP light-weight control arms, and a solid rear drive axle with two-inch dropped coil springs. Braking is provided by power four-wheel discs. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear with quad tips. Four new NAPA shocks and all new body mounts have been installed.
