OVERVIEW
This 1974 Chevrolet Corvette convertible received more than $7,000 in updates which include the suspension, 350ci V8, and three-speed automatic transmission being rebuilt. Features include power steering, power four-wheel disc brakes, hide-away headlights, and an AM/FM stereo. Finished in red and equipped with a black soft top over a black vinyl interior, this C3 Corvette comes from the selling dealer with receipts and a clear South Carolina title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
Initially finished in brown, the exterior has been repainted red. Features include urethane bumpers, hide-away headlights, rocker trim, a driver-side rearview mirror, a manual black convertible top, a color-keyed convertible top boot, and a rear antenna. A walk-around video can be seen below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of Corvette aluminum wheels is wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires with 2019 date codes.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The bucket seats and door panels are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include power steering and brakes, manual windows, an AM/FM stereo, simulated woodgrain accents, a center console with an automatic transmission shifter, and a sport steering wheel with a black grip. The selling dealer states that the heater is currently not working.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 160-mph speedometer and a 7K-rpm tachometer are located ahead of the driver. The center stack houses a clock and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and battery. The odometer reads 67,985 miles, but the actual mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by the reportedly original L48 350ci V8 engine and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. According to the selling dealer, the engine and transmission have been rebuilt. Parts replaced or upgraded during the engine rebuild process include the aluminum intake manifold, radiator, Edelbrock carburetor, mild camshaft, electronic ignition, engine gaskets, Edelbrock timing chain and gears, and head bolts.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The factory-installed four-wheel independent suspension was rebuilt along with the engine and transmission. Braking is provided by power four-wheel discs. A dual exhaust system with newer DynoMax Super Turbo mufflers exits at the rear. The selling dealer states that a four-wheel alignment was completed at the time of the engine rebuild and the brakes work but the pedal is soft; they suggest replacing the pads and rotors.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The selling dealer charges a $250 documentation fee in addition to the sale price. They will include more than $7,000 in receipts for the suspension, engine, and transmission rebuilds.
@Shelton – That issue is pretty common in these old C3 corvettes. The headlight doors operate off of the vacuum of the engine and as such, you might have one that operates faster then the other. There is a kit you can buy to convert them to electric, I'd suggest going that route. ...
Thanks for the info. Beautiful car
@Dahink61 – I noticed in the video one of the headlights came up slower than the other. I know they both must work but could that present a problem later ...

@KoolKat63 – Are these the original engine and transmission that were rebuilt. How many miles ago ? ...
Hello, yes the engine and transmission are original and unsure how many miles ago it was restored, but we do know it was all performed in 2018.
