OVERVIEW
This restored, right-hand-drive 1954 Bentley R-Type saloon has been with the same owner for over 30 years. It is powered by a 4.6-liter inline six-cylinder engine backed by a four-speed automatic transmission. Features include a front driving light, newly refinished wood interior trim, and rear-opening front doors. Finished in silver and champagne two-tone over a gray vinyl interior, this Bentley comes from the selling dealer with restoration photos and a clear North Carolina title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the restoration completed in approximately 2010-2012, the exterior was refinished in a two-tone of silver and champagne. Features include chrome bumpers, a front driving light, a chrome grille, dual fender-mounted rearview mirrors, a four-piece hinged hood, a roof-mounted antenna, rear-opening front doors, cowl-mounted fresh air panels, semaphore turn signals, and a locking fuel door. The selling dealer states that the finish is shiny, but has scratches in it. Additionally, the semaphore signals need to be repaired. A walk-around video can be seen below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 16-inch steel wheels is wrapped in 6.70-16 Firestone bias-ply tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front and rear bench seats are upholstered in gray vinyl. Features include right-hand drive, manual steering and brakes, manual windows, recently refinished wood trim, a rear seat armrest, a wood rear tray table, and an AM radio. The selling dealer states that the rear sunshade is functioning correctly, but the radio will need to be repaired and the heater is not functioning.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 110-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, temperature, oil pressure, and amperage are located in the center of the dashboard. The odometer reads 37,283 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 4.6-liter inline six-cylinder engine and backed by a four-speed automatic transmission. According to the selling dealer, the factory flashlight is still in place on the firewall.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Bentley was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The selling dealer charges a $250 documentation fee in addition to the sale price. They will include photos from the restoration as part of the sale.
