OVERVIEW
This one-owner 2005 Harley-Davidson Road King touring motorcycle was purchased new by the seller and has received updates to the paint, engine, and equipment. It is powered by a four-stroke 1,442cc V-twin engine outfitted with a 1550 big bore kit and mated to a five-speed manual transmission. Finished in silver with yellow accents and furnished with black leather seats, this Road King is now offered with service records, receipts, a trickle charger, a custom cover, a clean CARFAX report, and a clear Kentucky title.
EQUIPMENT
The exterior color was changed from gold to silver and yellow in 2016. Equipment includes a halogen headlight, a windshield, Road King badging, dual mirrors, driver and passenger floorboards, chrome dress-up toppers and other hardware, color-keyed storage compartments, and dual exhaust outlets.
WHEELS AND TIRES
The factory 16-inch wheels were replaced with chrome Harley-Davidson wheels, which are wrapped in staggered-sized tires that were replaced within the last 8,000 miles at a Harley-Davidson dealership.
SEATING AND FEATURES
A black leather king-and-queen-style seating arrangement comes with an adjustable driver backrest and a sissy bar for the passenger. The brake pedals have been upgraded to wider units and a chrome dual shift lever has been installed. Additional equipment includes cruise control and an AM/FM radio installed by a Harley-Davidson dealership.
GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. The digital odometer reads 20,912 miles, which the seller reports to be accurate. The most recent entry on the CARFAX report shows an odometer reading of 753 miles in 2005.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The carbureted 1,442cc four-stroke V-twin two-cylinder engine has been upgraded with a 1550 big bore kit, which reportedly makes the bike faster. According to the seller, the oil was changed in the summer of 2022. Power is sent to the rear wheel via a five-speed manual transmission and a belt primary drive.
CHASSIS
The front end uses a telescopic fork and the rear uses a twin-sided swing arm. Braking is provided by front and rear discs.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The CARFAX report shows no history of accidents or damage. The sale includes service records, receipts, a trickle charger, and a custom cover.
I have the receipts that show $11,030.87 in upgrades to the bike.

Folks, someone is going home with a beautiful motorcycle today. I have invested over $32,000 in this bike. The reserve is much lower than that. Here is a list of everything that has been done to this bike: 1. louder pipes installed 2. installed king and queen seat, drivers backrest is adjustable 3. 1550 lift kit installed 4. custom wider pedals 5. hydraulic clutch installed 6. changed handlebars to more comfortable ride 7. all cables changed to chrome 8. chrome on all the framing 9. changed handlebar grips from rubber to chrome 10. chrome caps on all the bolts 11. am/fm radio installed 12. cruise control installed 13. replaced black metal wheels with chrome wheels 14. new tires at 10,000 miles. This bike is 18 years old. I am the original owner. The only thing wrong is the lack of use. Very low miles for the age. I am getting older now and it is harder to handle comfortably. The bike is currently at the Harley Davidson dealership getting serviced and ready for the summer. Thanks for the bids everyone!
@Noordeens – 2005 came with cable clutch. 2004-6 models are known to be trouble some. Cam bearings are typically faulty. The write up does not clarify if these been replaced. I do like what I see though. Congrats on the restoration. ...
This motorcycle came from factory with 1450 cc. I put 1550 lift kit on it, which makes it faster and also put a hydraulic clutch on it.

Folks this is a beautiful motorcycle. Runs great. I am the original owner. Bought brand new from the Harley dealership here in Lexington, KY. It has always been maintained by the Harley dealership. I have spent alot of money on customization for this motorcycle. I am getting older and its getting harder to handle comfortably. The mileage is original miles.
