Features include Alpine roof windows, pop-out side windows, pop-out safari-style windshields, dual wood-slat roof racks, and a sliding vinyl roof panel. Finished in maroon and white over a gray and white vinyl interior, this Type 2 comes from the selling dealer with a tool roll and a clear title.

so far this build is a very good deal considering the work and man hours of this restoration. We typically are selling these builds for double this level or more. Good luck in the last minutes.

Last 30 minutes and just wanted to check that everyone has all their questions and comments asked and answered. Can’t wait to send this off to the new owner and see them enjoy this bus with the front safari windows open, full sunroof open and cruising through their town or down a beach road. Always a classic and always a head turner. Thanks everyone.

@Jsroley this was originally a 15 window bus that had the skylights added to the roof as well as the sunroof opening cut in for the rag top canvas sunroof to be installed.

@Funzs66 to clarify the last portion of the answer to your question. All rust areas were taken care of during restoration. It seemed that the answer was not so clear.

So did you make this a 23 window from another type or body?

@Funzs66 – What’s history on engine and trans. Is it leak free. Compressions. Any rust repairs during resto. ...

@Funzs66 Engine and transmission were overhauled. No compression checks out. No boxer motor is completely leak free as the two halves of the motor do tend to contract and expand with temperature changes; however, we have gone through and made sure that all seals and gaskets are new and in place. The car has had the valve cover gaskets replaced with new cork ones to avoid the usual leaks there too and a fresh oil change was done. As far as rust repairs, the rust in Brazil is minimal but there are the usual parts that need to be replaced like some floor areas.
