OVERVIEW
This all-steel 1938 Chevrolet Master Deluxe restomod was custom-built on a Fat Man Fabrications chassis by Dixie Dream Rods in Ringgold, Georgia and is powered by a General Motors ZZ4 5.7-liter V8 crate motor mated to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes air conditioning, power rack-and-pinion steering, Billet Specialties wheels, and a coil-over suspension. Finished in Silver Star over a late-model gray leather interior, this Chevrolet is now offered with restoration documentation and Alberta, Canada registration in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the rebuild process completed in 2010, the steel body was refinished in PPG Silver Star paint. Exterior features chrome brightwork, Hagan frenched headlights, dual mirrors, running boards, rear-hinged rear doors, a Hagan fuel filler door, 1937 Ford taillights, and a dual exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The 15-inch front and 17-inch rear Billet Specialties Qualifier five-spoke aluminum wheels are wrapped in 215/60 front and 235/65 rear Kumho tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is fitted with gray leather seating from a Buick LaCrosse along with granite leather and Ultraleather surrounding materials and charcoal Wilton wool carpeting. Amenities include tinted windows, a leather-wrapped Lecarra steering wheel, Juliano’s seat belts, a Vintage Air Gen II climate control system, a tilt-adjustable steering column, a Lokar shifter, Billet Specialties door handles, and New Port Engineering two-speed windshield wipers. The sound system consists of an Alpine AM/FM/XM/CD head unit with Bluetooth connectivity paired with a 960-watt Power Acoustik amplifier, Pioneer speakers, and an Alpine 10-inch subwoofer.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Dakota Digital instrumentation includes a speedometer and accompanying gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The digital odometer reads 6,500 miles, indicative of the mileage added since the restoration was completed. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The crate-sourced General Motors ZZ4 5.7-liter V8 has been upgraded with a Holley 670cfm carburetor, a March Performance serpentine belt system, Hedman ceramic-coated headers, a Painless Performance Products wiring harness, and a Walker radiator. An oil change was performed in September 2022. Power is sent to the back wheels via a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and a Ford eight-inch rear end with 3.50:1 gears.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The body rides on a Fat Man Fabrications chassis and a coil-over suspension. Additional features include Mustang II power rack-and-pinion steering, Chassis Engineering Inc. leaf springs, and a rear sway bar.
