OVERVIEW
This 1977 Triumph Spitfire 1500 roadster was manufactured in Coventry, England in December 1976 and went through a cosmetic and mechanical overhaul approximately 20 years ago. It comes equipped with a newer soft top, a Bluetooth stereo, woodgrain trim, and Falken tires on Minilite-style wheels. Power is supplied by a rebuilt 1.5-liter inline-four mated to a rebuilt four-speed manual transmission. Finished in Pimento Red over a black vinyl interior, this Spitfire is now offered with service records and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior received body repairs and a fresh coat of Pimento Red (code 72) paint during restoration in 2003. Along with that work, new floor boards were installed and a replacement black cloth top with plastic windows was fitted. In early 2023, the exterior surfaces were wet-sanded and polished. Exterior features include chrome bumpers with black guards, dual mirrors, a trunk-mounted luggage rack, and a dual-outlet exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Minilite-style aluminum 13-inch wheels are wrapped in 175/70 Falken tires installed in December 2021.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The refurbished two-seat interior is fitted with black vinyl bucket seats, matched to the door panels, dash pad, armrests, and carpeting. Amenities include red three-point safety belts, a woodgrain dash face, and a Bluetooth stereo.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 7K-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 83,887, which the seller asserts is a true reading.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Under the clamshell hood is a 1.5-liter inline-four that was rebuilt in 2003 and given a valve job, a Pertronix ignition system, new fuel lines, a new fuel pump, a Weber carburetor, and an aluminum radiator. Documentation in the photo gallery on the right outlines additional work completed, as well as components sourced for the project at the time of refurbishment. Recent maintenance includes the replacement of the spark plugs, wires, and fluids in April 2023. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a rebuilt four-speed manual transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The 2003 restoration included the replacement of the brake lines, tie rod ends, radius arms, leaf springs, and other chassis components.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The sale includes service records.
Thank you for the continued bids… Though reserve was considerably highly- I’m removing it. Highest bidder owns it. Should be an interesting last 3 hours. The new owner will be very pleased with the purchase.

Good morning. As the auction is coming to a close in 6 hours, please let me know if there are any additional questions. If you haven’t driven a properly done Spitfire, it’s A excellent entry level classic that’s an absolute joy to drive. The Monza exhaust is a huge improvement from stock. Hopefully it will go to a new owner that will appreciate it as I have.
Good morning. Hopefully interested bidders were able to view the videos. 98Fairwood, I’ve taken some photos of the instrument panel. Hopefully they will suffice. The gauges and Wood are in nearly mint condition.
BID: $6,700
Could you post a picture of the dash showing all the instramentation thanks
Several videos have been added to the listing.
Good morning. Mmax91- since the complete rebuild, there has been just under 6000 miles put on the car. I am the 3rd owner, and I’ve owned it for less than a year. I recently picked Up a 56 Mga, so putting my efforts in that project. When the car was restored, body work was completed to take the car to the next level before a respray. No signs of filler, and since undercarriage is in excellent shape- no signs of any accidents. Truly one of the nicest looking and driving Spitfires on the road.

Do you know how many miles are on engine since rebuild in 2003? Are you the second or third owner since 2003? If third owner, how long have you owned it? Do you know what happened that required front and rear fender repair and trunk repair in 2005? Thanks.
