Vehicle Story

OVERVIEW

This frame-off-restored 1937 Ford Coupe was in California long-term and has traveled approximately 3,600 miles on a crate-sourced 5.7-liter Chevrolet Vortec V8 backed by a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission. Equipment includes front disc brakes, rack-and-pinion power steering, and Mustang II independent front suspension. Finished in Vermillion Red over an Opal Gray two-tone leather interior, this all-steel Ford is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

This coupe’s Vermillion Red all-steel body was the beneficiary of a frame-off restoration. Exterior features include the original grilles and glass headlamps, chrome bumpers, dual mirrors, running boards, split front and rear windshields, and a dual exhaust system with bright outlets.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Body-color 15-inch steel wheels with polished trim rings and Ford-branded center caps are wrapped in BFGoodrich Momentum tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The interior is fitted with Opal Gray two-tone leather bench seating with perforated inserts, matched to the custom door panels, dash, headliner, lap belts, and carpeting. The dash is finished in body-color Vermillion Red paint. Features include a Lokar shifter, a leather-wrapped Lecarra steering wheel, an ididit steering column, and a carpeted trunk.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Modern instrumentation from TPI-Tech includes a 140-mph speedometer and accompanying gauges for the fuel level, voltage, oil pressure, and coolant temperature. The digital odometer reads 3,638 miles, indicating the mileage accrued since the installation of the powertrain. The selling dealer states that the actual mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 5.7-liter Chevrolet Vortec V8 crate motor has accrued approximately 3,600 miles since installation. It has been upgraded with an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold and carburetor, performance headers, an aluminum radiator, a chrome-finished air cleaner, and a high-performance fuel pump. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and a Ford nine-inch rear end with 2.83:1 gears.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The suspension has two-inch drop spindles and a Ford Mustang II independent front suspension setup with power rack-and-pinion power steering. Stopping power comes from disc brakes up front and drums in the rear.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS

The selling dealer has provided a walk-around video with the vehicle at idle.
