Reserve Removed: 1971 DODGE CHALLENGER

OVERVIEW

This restored 1971 Dodge Challenger is powered by a rebuilt 383cid V8 backed by a rebuilt 727 TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering and brakes, bucket seats, a center console, and a rear spoiler. Finished in Sublime Green with black stripes and equipped with a black vinyl top over a black vinyl interior, this Challenger comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

Within the last 1,000 miles, the restoration was completed. As part of the overhaul, the color of the exterior was changed from Butterscotch (EL5) to Sublime Green. Features include chrome bumpers, an R/T hood, hood pins, black hood and side stripes, a fender-mounted antenna, color-matched mirror housings with a manual driver-side remote, tinted windows, a black vinyl top, a black rear spoiler, and a black tail panel.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 17-inch Mopar Rallye-style wheels is wrapped in new radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The front bucket seats and the rear seat are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include power steering, a center console-mounted Slap Stik automatic transmission shifter, a three-spoke steering wheel with a wood rim, and manual windows.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A set of Rallye instruments including a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and alternator are located ahead of the driver. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a rebuilt 383cid V8 and backed by a rebuilt 727 TorqueFlite three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include black valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, and a chrome air cleaner.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Challenger was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power four-wheel drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
