OVERVIEW
This restored 1969 Dodge Super Bee two-door hardtop has been owned by the seller for five years and is powered by a 440ci V8 backed by a four-speed manual transmission. Features include power steering, a Ramcharger fresh air induction system, bumblebee stripe, Dakota Digital gauges, Global West Suspension subframe connector kit, Wilwood four-wheel disc brakes, and Calvert Racing rear suspension. Finished in Red over a red vinyl interior, this Super Bee comes with three air cleaner lids autographed by Mopar celebrities, 20 years of receipts, a vehicle data sheet from the Super Bee Registry, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
This 1969 Super Bee hardtop was finished in the original color of Red (code R6) in 2008. Features include chrome bumpers, gray grille with quad headlights, Ramcharger fresh air induction system, wheel lip moldings, driver’s mirror, black bumblebee stripe, Scat Pack emblems, and black taillight panel.
EXTERIOR WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 15" x 8" front and 15" x 10" rear Magnum 500 wheels is wrapped in 26" x 8" front and 28" x 12" rear Mickey Thompson Sportsman S/R radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front bench seat and rear seat are upholstered in red vinyl (code H2R). Features include power steering, manual windows, red vinyl door panels and rear trim, AM radio, a three-spoke steering wheel with wood rim, a red dashboard pad with black inserts, and a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter. The seller states that a small hole is present in the driver’s seat and Year One replacement parts have been installed.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The instrument panel consists of a Dakota Digital analog gauge set including 160-mph speedometer, 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. After 6,000 miles were logged during five years of ownership, the odometer now reads 2,000 miles, which the seller states is the miles logged since the Dakota Digital gauges were installed. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The original 383 has been replaced by a 440cid V8 engine built by Larson and King, Portland Engine Rebuilders. That is backed by an 18-spline A833 four-speed manual transmission that was serviced 2,000 miles ago during installation. The engine has been dyno-tuned and produces 560 horsepower and 580-lb-ft of torque with 10.3:1 compression. A Trick Flow roller rocker kit was installed during the engine rebuild. Engine bay features include a Ramcharger fresh air induction system, finned aluminum valve covers, and aluminum radiator. The seller states that three air cleaner lids will be included with the sale, with one being signed by Richard Rawlings from Gas Monkey Garage, another by Dave Kindig from Bitchin’ Rides, and a third signed by Mark Worman from Graveyard Cars.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Super Bee is equipped with an independent front suspension and solid Dana 60 rear-drive axle with a 4.11 rear gears. Braking is provided by manual Willwood four-wheel discs. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear. The seller states that the Calvert Racing rear suspension including leaf springs, shocks, Cal Trac traction bars, new wheel bearings and seals, and Global West subframe connectors. ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The seller will include 20 years of receipts, a vehicle data sheet from the Super Bee Registry, and three different air cleaner lids as part of the sale.
