OVERVIEW
This restored 1962 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe is powered by a 454cid V8 backed by a Muncie M22 four-speed manual transmission. Features include power steering, an Alpine stereo with an amplifier, shaved door handles, a lowered suspension, and custom 18-inch wheels. Finished in black over a black cloth interior, this Impala comes with a clear title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the restoration in 2010, the exterior was finished in PPG black. Features include chrome bumpers, a custom aluminum grille, a louvered hood, dual sport mirrors, tinted windows, shaved door handles with electric solenoids, rocker panel trim, a custom rear bumper grille, and clear taillights.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 18-inch chrome wheels is wrapped in 225/40/18 radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front and rear bench seats are upholstered in black cloth with red piping. Features include a glove box-mounted Alpine stereo connected to a trunk-mounted amplifier, power steering, a tilt steering column, manual windows, a three-spoke aluminum steering wheel with a black grip, and a center console-mounted manual transmission shifter.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, voltage, oil, and temperature are located in a custom aluminum panel ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 122,047 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 454cid V8 and backed by a Muncie M22 four-speed manual transmission. Engine bay features include black aluminum valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, aluminum Edelbrock heads, a 650cfm Holley four-barrel carburetor, tubular exhaust headers, an aluminum radiator with an electric fan, and a shaved firewall. An inspection was completed and the battery was replaced in May 2023.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Impala was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drum brakes. A three-inch dual exhaust system exits at the rear. The seller states that the suspension has been lowered two inches and equipped with Spoon Sports rear trailing arms.
