283-Powered 1953 Ford F-100

OVERVIEW

This recently restored 1953 Ford F-100 is powered by a 283cid Chevrolet V8 backed by a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a wood bed floor, power windows, a Heidts tubular independent front suspension, power front disc brakes, a Boss AM/FM/CD stereo, a tilt steering column, and bucket seats. Finished in black and white over a black leather interior, this Ford truck comes with an Ontario, Canada vehicle permit in the seller's name.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration completed in April 2023, the exterior was refinished in black and white. Features include a chrome front bumper, a white grille, a custom forward-tilting hood, white running boards, a flareside pickup box with a new wood bed floor, hidden tailgate latches, and an embossed tailgate.

A set of new 17-inch American Racing wheels is wrapped in new radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The bucket seats are upholstered in black leather and the door panels have charcoal gray suede-like microfiber inserts. Features include manual steering, power windows, a tilt steering column with an automatic transmission shifter, a Boss AM/FM/CD stereo, and a three-spoke steering wheel with a black grip.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 160-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 0 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 283cid Chevrolet V8 and backed by a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include finned aluminum valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, a finned aluminum Edelbrock air cleaner, a chrome alternator, and tube exhaust headers. An Ontario safety inspection was completed in May 2023.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Ford is equipped with a Heidts independent front suspension with tubular control arms and a solid nine-inch Ford rear drive axle equipped with 3.23:1 gears and mounted with a four-link setup. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
