OVERVIEW
This restored 1973 Plymouth Duster is powered by a 360cid V8 backed by a rebuilt TorqueFlite 727 three-speed automatic transmission equipped with a shift kit. Features include bucket seats, updated gauges, power steering, and a rear spoiler. Finished in Blueberry Purple Pearl over a black vinyl interior, this Duster comes with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the restoration in 2016, the exterior was refinished in Blueberry Purple Pearl. Features include chrome bumpers, a black grille, a black hood and hood scoop, black side accent stripes, dual mirrors, and a black rear spoiler. The seller states that there are two minor scratches on the passenger-side quarter panel.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 14-inch Plymouth Rallye wheels is wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin has been updated with newer black vinyl for the front bucket seats, newer black carpeting, and a newer black dash pad. Features include power steering, a floor-mounted B&M automatic transmission shifter, a three-spoke steering wheel, body-color trim, and manual windows. The seller states that the horn wire in the steering wheel needs to be reconnected.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A set of aftermarket gauges that includes a speedometer, tachometer, and readouts for other levels is located ahead of the driver. With 2,500 miles added during current ownership, the odometer reads 3,500 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. The seller states that the gas gauge does not function correctly because of a faulty fuel-sending unit in the gas tank.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a non-numbers-matching 360cid V8 that has been bored .030 over and is backed by a rebuilt TorqueFlite 727 automatic transmission equipped with a shift kit. The seller estimates the engine's output is 400 horsepower. Engine features include a steel crankshaft, flat-top pistons, forged connecting rods, Edelbrock Performer RPM heads and intake manifold, a Comp Cams camshaft, a Holley Ultra Street Avenger 670-cfm carburetor, finned aluminum Edelbrock valve covers and air cleaner, an aluminum intake manifold, and electronic ignition. The seller states that regular oil changes have been completed.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Duster is equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid 8.75-inch rear drive axle with a Sure-Grip differential and 4.56:1 gears. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
