OVERVIEW

This 1956 Chevrolet 3100 big-window pickup has covered just 75 miles since the completion of a frame-off restoration and has watermelon-themed interior and exterior design elements. It is powered by a 283cid small-block V8 mated to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission and features a quad-outlet exhaust system, Rally wheels, a retro-look AM/FM stereo, and oak bed planks. Finished in light green over a red vinyl interior, this 3200 is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The restoration completed in 2020 encompassed a repaint in light green with watermelon-themed design cues and a simulated patina. The stepside exterior has been accented with chrome brightwork, a body-color windshield visor, dual mirrors, door logos, an antenna, a side-mounted spare whitewall tire, an embossed tailgate, oak bed planks and rail caps, a bed-mounted wicker basket with a leather retention strap, and a stainless steel quad-outlet exhaust system.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Body-color 15-inch Rally wheels with bowtie-branded center caps and polished trim rings are wrapped in 215/70 front and 295/50 rear BFGoodrich Radial T/A raised-white-letter tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The watermelon-themed cab interior is fitted with a red vinyl bench seat along with matching materials for the carpeting, door cards, and headliner. Amenities include dual headrests, floor mats, lap belts, a heater, a retro-look AM/FM radio with auxiliary inputs, a kick panel-mounted speaker, a dome light, and custom graphics on the glove box door.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation includes a 100-mph speedometer accompanied by gauges for the coolant temperature, fuel level, voltage, and oil pressure. The odometer reads 75 miles, indicative of the mileage accrued since the restoration was completed. The true mileage on the chassis is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The 283cid small-block V8 continues the watermelon motif with custom design elements and sits within a chrome-dressed engine bay. Performance upgrades include a custom air cleaner, an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, ceramic-coated headers, and a serpentine drive belt system with polished and billet aluminum components. Power is transferred to the rear wheels via a column-shifted 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission with overdrive.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The frame and undercarriage have been coated in a body-color finish.
