OVERVIEW
This 1965 Ford Mustang coupe has been with its current owner for 15 years and is powered by a replacement 289cid V8 equipped with 302cid heads and backed by a rebuilt C4 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include bucket seats, a chrome Monte Carlo bar, Weld Racing Draglite wheels, an MSD electronic ignition, tubular headers, and a newer JEGS fuel tank. Finished in red over a black vinyl interior, this Mustang is available on consignment on behalf of its current owner and comes with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior is finished in red. Features include chrome bumpers, a driver-side mirror, a fender-mounted antenna, and GT-style rear valance-exit exhaust outlets. Rust is present in various places including an A-pillar, a rear quarter panel, and the trunk. Additionally, the passenger-side mirror and the grille are missing. A walk-around video can be seen below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 15-inch Weld Racing Draglite aluminum wheels is wrapped in 165R15 radial front and 215/65R15 Stinger Radial GTS rear tires. The rear center caps are missing.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front bucket seats and the rear seat were reupholstered in black vinyl in 2008. Features include manual windows and steering, a three-spoke Grant steering wheel, an AM radio, and a floor-mounted automatic transmission shifter. The seller states that missing parts include the shifter top lever and the driver-side interior door armrest. Additionally, there is pitting on the chrome levers.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature are located ahead of the driver. A set of three Sunpro gauges for the coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage is located under the dashboard. The odometer reads 34,377 miles, which reflects the mileage on the rebuilt engine. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a non-original 289cid V8 equipped with 302cid heads and backed by a rebuilt C4 three-speed automatic transmission. The engine received a top-end rebuild in 2018. Engine bay features include finned aluminum valve covers, an MSD ignition, a chrome air cleaner, an aluminum radiator, and a chrome Monte Carlo bar.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Mustang was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel drums. As part of a 2022 fuel system update, a new JEGS gas tank, a new pump, and new filters were installed. The U-joints and driveshaft were replaced and the driveshaft was balanced in 2008. Perforating rust is present on the undercarriage.

Hi all, We are excited to offer this mechanically overhauled, driver friendly, 1965 Ford Mustang. A brief introduction: My name is Daniel and I’m part of the CLASSIC.COM Pro Network. We offer a vehicle marketing program for sellers, combining our extensive reach, a full-disclosure approach, accurate descriptions, third-party inspections and detailed photography. I am leading the sale of this Mustang which is located in Fort Collins, CO. This 1965 Ford Mustang is not a numbers matching car and is not restored to concours condition. Rather, it is a driver friendly Mustang coupe with some undercarriage surface rust and exterior blemishes (please see photos for details) but ready to hit the road! The Mustang has been recently overhauled mechanically and had a partial restoration performed on it 15 years ago. Note the more modernized pieces such as the MSD electronic distributor and box to do away with the maintenance and hassle of the old points distributor. In the gallery you’ll find 150+ photos including a few videos for your viewing pleasure. if you have any questions at all, please feel free to comment below, ask a question or reach out via the contact seller button. Best of luck to all of you
