OVERVIEW
This 1961 MG MGA roadster received $38,000 in updates and upgrades that include a body-off restoration and a rebuild of the 1.6-liter inline-four, which is connected to a four-speed manual transmission. It is a reportedly rust-free California car with 26,289 miles on the odometer and has been garaged and covered under the seller’s ownership. Finished in dark red and equipped with a black soft top over a black vinyl interior, this MGA is now offered with a tan tonneau cover, clip-in side windows, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The dark red exterior was restored under current ownership and features chrome bumpers with overriders, fender-mounted mirrors, and a trunk-mounted chrome luggage rack.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
The 15-inch wire wheels have knock-off center caps and are wrapped in 165SR15 Michelin XZX tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The two-seat cockpit is fitted with black vinyl low-back buckets with red contrasting piping, matched to the door panels, dash trim, lap belts, and carpeting. Features include a cassette radio, a center armrest, a dash-mounted rearview mirror, a banjo-style steering wheel, and a spare tire inside the carpeted trunk.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The Jaeger-branded instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the oil pressure and coolant temperature. A clock and a voltage meter have been mounted underneath the dash. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 26,289 miles, which the seller believes to be a true reading.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The carbureted 1.6-liter inline-four has been rebuilt and was reportedly serviced around May 2023. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted four-speed manual transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Braking is performed by front discs and rear drums.

Sir all I know is what I was told by the seller. I believed him the car is in excellent shape it runs strong. I love the car I just don’t have room in my garage. If you’re interested bid if not don’t I don’t need the money I will keep it if I have to. I can always rent a storage room for it. Thanks for your interest.
So, the 38K in restorations can not be verified as it was more or less word of mouth. If the former owner did not provide proof then I wonder how reliable the 26K original miles on a 52 year old car is. It looks nice but a bit of a gamble to buy without receipts or records of workmanship.
I am selling the car because I have no room in my garage I recently bought a dodge king Daytona
The car was restored in California before I bought it. I don’t have the receipts I didn’t request them from the seller I liked the car I bought it. All Tony did to the car was an oil change and install a new battery. The car is as it’s advertised you are more than welcome to come see for yourself.
Are you going to show a video of it running? Why should we trust someone who made a bunch of money off of work on the car, bidding on the car. Yet you are selling the car. At a minimum, Is it possible to see the receipts for 38K in work?
