OVERVIEW
This 1968 Ford Mustang hardtop reportedly received an $11,000 rebuild of its custom-built 347cid V8, which is paired with a three-speed automatic transmission equipped with a shift kit. Equipment includes power steering, power brakes, a Bluetooth audio system, LED interior and exterior lighting, and digital instruments. Finished in maroon over a black vinyl interior, this first-generation Mustang is now offered by the selling dealer with a Marti Report, restoration receipts, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The body was originally Acapulco Blue (D) but was refinished in maroon under prior ownership. Exterior features include fog lamps, newer front and rear chrome bumpers, 347 fender badging, a cowl-intake fiberglass hood, dual mirrors, wheel arch moldings, LED lighting, sequential turn signals, and a dual exhaust system.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
American Racing five-spoke 14-inch polished aluminum wheels are wrapped in 215/70 front and 225/70 rear Cooper Cobra Radial G/T raised-white-letter tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The cabin is fitted with black vinyl low-back bucket seats up front, a bench in the rear, and matching materials for the door panels, dash, headliner, and carpeting. Amenities include power steering, a wood-rimmed steering wheel, a custom center console, Mustang-branded floor mats, a Viper alarm, LED lighting, and a Bluetooth stereo connected to an amplifier and a subwoofer in the trunk, which also houses a full-size spare tire.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Digital instrumentation includes a speedometer, a tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The odometer reads 4,689 miles, but the true mileage on the chassis is unknown. The mileage on the rebuilt engine is said to be approximately 5,000 miles.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The engine started life as a 302cid powerplant and was bored out into a 347cid V8. According to the selling dealer, the rebuild and associated tuning carried out under prior ownership totaled $11,000. Power is fed to the rear wheels via a floor-shifted three-speed automatic transmission with a shift kit.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping is performed by power brakes. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
