OVERVIEW
This restored 1936 Ford stake bed truck is powered by a 221cid Ford flathead V8 backed by a non-synchronized four-speed manual transmission. Features include a steel flatbed with a wood floor and stake sides, a tilt-out windshield, an external fuel tank, and an aftermarket turn signal system. Finished in white over a black vinyl interior, this former winery display vehicle comes with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the restoration under previous ownership in 2009, the body, fenders, and flatbed frame were finished in white. Features include a chrome front bumper, front driving lights, dual headlights with chrome buckets and stands, a four-piece hood, accent pinstriping, dual mirrors, running board step plates, and a body-color steel flatbed with a wood floor and stake sides. A black saddle fuel tank with a fuel level dipstick has been added. The seller states that some nicks and scratches are present, primarily on the flatbed and tailgate. The seller will remove the winery logos and mud flaps prior to the sale.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of white steel 20-inch Ford truck wheels is wrapped in 6.00-20 Denman bias-ply tires. The seller states that all tires are in good condition and have little wear due to the low amount of miles they have accrued since the restoration was completed.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The bench seat is upholstered in black vinyl. Features include manual steering and windows, a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter, black carpeting, a white dashboard, and an aftermarket turn signal system. The seller states that the windshield wipers work intermittently.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A 100-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 793 miles, which the seller believes to be the mileage covered since the restoration was finished; the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown. According to the seller, the dash-mounted gas gauge does not work and the oil gauge's needle indicator is missing.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 221cid Ford flathead V8 and backed by a non-synchronized four-speed manual transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Ford was factory-equipped with a solid front axle and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by mechanical four-wheel drums. A single exhaust system exits at the rear.

@dvail12 – I have never owned a unsynchronized transmission vehicle. Do you double clutch to shift? And has the reserve been met? I seems a few of the gauges do not work. Are they Ford originals? or aftermarket? ...
I've tried double clutching as well as shifting at different rpm. I haven't driven the truck enough to master the shift. Since most of the mileage I have put on the truck is between the barn and the tasting room, I usually skip first gear and start in second which doesn't require shifting for the journey. On the road in fourth gear, the truck runs smoothly between 45 and 50 mph. I believe all the gages are Ford. Don't know if they are repros or originals. The gas gage was intentionally disabled when the truck was restored and the external fuel tank was added. I didn't notice the needle was missing on the oil pressure gage until we took pictures. I'm pretty sure it was there and has fallen off in the gage.
