OVERVIEW
This 1934 Ford coupe is a custom build with a Gibbon fiberglass body that rides on Eagle coil-overs and draws power from a 540ci big-block V8 powertrain. The Dart engine was built by Motor Machine Super Shop of Carmichael, California at a reported cost of $32,500 and incorporates Hilborn electronic fuel injection, a hydraulic roller cam, and performance headers. Power is routed through a Turbo 400 three-speed automatic transmission equipped with a Gear Vendors overdrive unit. Enhancements include a chrome steering column, power windows, and a power-operated rear rumble seat. Finished in yellow over a two-tone leather and vinyl interior with flame accents, this Ford comes with a hood, side panels, build invoices, documentation, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR - FEATURES
The exterior consists of a yellow Gibbon fiberglass body, an exposed engine bay, a chopped roofline, rear-hinged doors, and a power-operated rear rumble seat. Brightwork highlights the headlight housings, grille and radiator shell, mirror caps, and side-exit exhaust outlets. The seller notes that all of the glass was replaced in 2021.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
Five-spoke aluminum wheels are fitted with staggered-width Cooper front and Nitto rear tires.
INTERIOR - FEATURES
The interior has a two-person bench seat with two-tone ivory and yellow leather and vinyl upholstery, offset by orange perimeter piping. The door panels display a flame pattern in the same color scheme. Amenities include an Alpine AM/FM/CD head unit with six speakers, power windows, and a banjo steering wheel. An air conditioning system has been installed, but it is currently not connected for full operation. According to the seller, a padded roll bar has been added to the cabin.
INTERIOR - GAUGES
The VDO instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows 24,124 miles; the seller states the vehicle has accrued 5,500 miles since the build was completed.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 540ci big-block V8 Dart engine built by Motor Machine Super Shop received custom headers, Hilborn electronic fuel injection, and a hydraulic roller camshaft. Engine output is reportedly 600 horsepower and is sent to the Ford nine-inch rear end via a Turbo 400 three-speed automatic transmission with Gear Vendors overdrive. The video below shows the car idling and revving.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The frame has been powder-coated. The front-end architecture is from Heidts and the vehicle rides on Eagle coilovers. Stopping is performed by four-wheel disc brakes.
