OVERVIEW
This restored 1965 Ford Mustang convertible is powered by a 289cid V8 backed by a TREMEC five-speed manual transmission. Features include air conditioning, Deluxe door panels, Rally gauges, a newer heater core, bucket seats, a center console, GT badges and fog lights, front disc brakes, power steering, and PerTronix electronic ignition. Finished in Poppy Red and equipped with a newer power white convertible top over a white vinyl interior, this Mustang comes from the selling dealer with receipts, a maintenance log book, and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the restoration in 2001, the exterior was refinished in Poppy Red (code 3) and equipped with a new power white convertible top. Features include chrome bumpers, GT fog lights, a fender-mounted antenna, GT emblems and white stripes, dual mirrors, and GT-style exhaust outlets that exit through the rear valance. A walk-around video can be seen below.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of 14-inch chrome Mustang steel wheels is wrapped in 205/70R14 BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front bucket seats and the rear seat are upholstered in white Pony-print vinyl. Features include white vinyl Deluxe door panels and trim, manual windows, power steering, air conditioning, a digital AM/FM stereo, a center console-mounted manual transmission shifter, a sport steering wheel with a wood rim, and woodgrain accents. The selling dealer states that the radio powers on but does not produce sound.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The Stewart Warner gauges include a 160-mph speedometer and readouts for the fuel level, oil pressure, voltage, and coolant temperature. An 8,000-rpm tachometer and a clock are mounted to the steering column. The odometer reads 1,868 miles, which reflects the miles accrued since the restoration was completed; the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 289cid V8 and backed by a TREMEC five-speed manual transmission. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, a chrome air cleaner, an aluminum radiator, an Edelbrock intake manifold, and tube headers. The selling dealer states that within the past five years, the Holley carburetor was rebuilt and a new top-end engine gasket kit, heater core, PerTronix electronic ignition, spark plugs, and belts were installed. In addition, they note the air conditioning system is currently not working; a compressor bearing and refrigerant will need to be installed. Oil, transmission fluid, and rear axle fluid changes were completed within the last 120 miles.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Mustang was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS
The selling dealer will include receipts and a maintenance log book as part of the sale.

@lumpy16 – What is that knocking noise. Sounds like engine is on its way out. ...
There has been a new video uploaded into the top gallery for everyone to view! Happy bidding!
I've sent the video of it running and one with the top going up and down to Auto Hunter.
Just so everybody knows, the title for this car is in my name. I have owned this one for four years.
@FConte65 – sounds like the engines knocking can you send a video of the engine running with the hood up? ...
No engine knock at all. Will do a video and post it to youtube.
@lumpy16 – What is that knocking noise. Sounds like engine is on its way out. ...
There were construction workers doing work where I took the pictures and video. Engine isn't on the way out at all. Didn't even think about that until afterwards. I will do another video today of it running and will show the top going down.

I can get a video showing that but wouldn't know how to upload it. Looks like I can only upload photos.

@Ted79 – Any undercarriage or wheel well rust? Any restoration to the undercarriage? Is the A/C factory or after market? Thanks ...
No undercarriage rust or wheel well. It is factory air but will require a new bearing for the Compressor clutch and refrigerant. It was working and blew cold before I changed the head gasket on it.
@JohnP1776 – Any rust? ...
The car is solid.
