This 2004 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited is finished in Patriot Blue with a new Bestop Trektop, with over $10k in new parts installed in 2020. Power comes from a 4.0-liter inline-6 mated to a 4-speed automatic with overdrive. The vehicle rides on a 3" Teraflex suspension lift over 15" beadlock-style wheels wrapped in 33"x12.5" Dick Cepek A/T tires and sports a chrome grille cover, SmittyBilt rock sliders, LED lighting, and a tow package. The interior received new black leatherette seat covers, carpeting, a new hands-free sound system with Kicker speakers, and a Soundstream 1000-watt amp. Other additions include a new serpentine belt, valve cover and oil pan gaskets, brakes and lines, heavy-duty steering kit, radiator, cold air intake, exhaust system, Poison Spyder differential covers, and more. This second-generation LJ shows approximately 191k miles and has passed an engine compression test, undergone a 100-point vehicle inspection, and passed California emissions testing in the past year. It is offered with a clear California title in the seller's name, a clean Carfax report, and records of the recently performed work.
The Patriot Blue finish has been clay-barred, buffed, and waxed/polished, and the condition is depicted in photos. The pitting is present on the grille behind the chrome cover, on the front of the fenders, and the windshield frame. A new black Bestop NX Fastback Trektop folds rearward from the windshield and can be converted into a Bimini top. Improved lighting comes from Oracle Halo LED headlights, and body protection includes OEM steel bumpers front and rear and Smittybilt rock sliders below the hard doors on either side.
A newly installed 3” Teraflex suspension lift allows for clearance of new 33"x12.5" Dick Cepek Trail Country EXP All-Terrain tires over fresh 15"x 8" Mammoth 8 beadlock-style alloy wheels. A full-size spare with matching wheel/tire configuration and an aftermarket tow hitch are mounted in the rear.
New custom black CalTrends leatherette seat covers are fitted over the factory cloth, which the seller states are clean and undamaged, and a new Rugged Ridge sunshade has been added for protection from the sun when going topless. Other new parts include a Stock Interiors' custom carpet kit with Outland all-weather mats protecting the front, rear, and cargo area. Minor imperfections consist of two holes in the center console where the previous owner had a CB mic installed; photos can be seen in the gallery.
A newly added hands-free "infotainment" system consists of an LCD touchscreen with navigation, integrated back-up camera, and Bluetooth connectivity with both Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Sound is projected via four Kicker speakers paired with a 1000-watt Soundstream amp. Gauges and operational controls all work with no issue, including the freshly charged air conditioning. The six-digit LCD odometer shows just over 191,500 miles.
Power is provided by a 4.0-liter inline-6 paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission with overdrive. Recent work has included replacing the valve cover and oil pan gaskets, serpentine belt, oil, and filter, a transmission flush, and installing a new CSF radiator with hoses and a Jammer cold air intake. Diagnostic testing performed in 2020 consisted of a successful engine compression test, a 100-point inspection, and a passing California emissions test.
The LJ is equipped with a Dana 35 front axle, a Dana 44 in the rear with a limited-slip differential and 3.73:1 gearing, and new Poison Spyder differential covers. The Jeep has not been taken off-road under the current ownership, and the transfer case operates smoothly. Steering is handled by a new Crown Automotive heavy-duty kit and a JKS adjustable track bar, and braking has been improved with the recent addition of Duralast calipers, rotors, and pads at all four corners and Rubicon Express steel-braided brake lines. Also newly installed is an MBRP Installer Series cat-back exhaust system. The seller notes that the discoloration on the undercarriage components is not corrosion, but the remnant of dried clay-like soil picked up under previous ownership.
A clean Carfax report showing five owners and registration in Florida, Alabama, and, most recently, California, and records of the recent work, the inspection report, and aftermarket parts brochures are included with the car. The current California registration is good through July 2021.
