RESERVE REMOVED: 1962 CHEVROLET CORVETTE 327 4-SPEED

OVERVIEW

This upgraded and serviced 1962 Chevrolet Corvette has over $22,000 invested in it within the last year. It is powered by a non-original, period-correct 327cid V8 engine backed by a new four-speed manual transmission. Features include a color-matching removable hard top, a new AM/FM/Bluetooth radio, bucket seats, manual steering, windows, and brakes. Newly installed parts include a windshield, wheels, hub caps, a complete wiring harness, tires, an Edelbrock intake manifold, a clutch, LED interior courtesy lights, and a spare tire cover. Finished in black and equipped with a black hardtop over a red leather interior, this Corvette is available now and comes with receipts for upgrades and repairs along with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The exterior is finished in black. Features include chrome bumpers, alcove and rocker trim, a driver’s rearview mirror, a removable black hardtop, and a rear-mounted antenna. A new windshield and weatherstrip was installed and a complete exterior detail and color correction service was completed in August of 2022. A video slideshow can be seen below.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch black wheels, with correct Corvette full hub caps, is wrapped in new Uniroyal Tiger Paw AP 205/75/R15 whitewall radial tires. The seller states that four used steel standard Chevrolet passenger car wheels were sourced, modified to retain Corvette full hub caps, refinished, and installed. Additionally, four used hub caps were sourced, reconditioned, and installed. A used 1965 Corvette steel spare wheel, with a tire, was sourced and installed with a fabricated spare tire cover.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

A pair of bucket seats are upholstered in red leather. Features include manual windows and steering, a new AM/FM/Bluetooth radio, a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter, and red trim. Recently installed parts include a new carpet, LED courtesy lights, a dashboard insert assembly with stainless trim and bars, a screw set, floor mats, Kilzmat sound proofing, a horn button, a turn-signal lever knob, clutch and brake pedal pads, and a USB charger. A used fuel tank cover was sourced and refinished in satin black and installed with a new rubber seal. The convertible top storage area was refinished in satin black, and new carpet was installed on the fuel tank cover.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 160-mph speedometer, a 7,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, temperature, battery, and oil are located ahead of the driver. With 500 miles added during ownership the 1.5-year ownership, the odometer reads 27,500 miles but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a non-original period-correct 327cid V8 engine backed by a new four-speed manual transmission. Engine bay features include used polished cast-aluminum finned valve covers and air cleaner lid. Newly replaced parts include transmission shifter bushings and clips rocker arms, push rods, a pilot shaft bearing, a throw out bearing, a pressure plate, a generator case, a rebuilt Edelbrock carburetor, engine oil upgrade to 20w50 oil to reduce leaks and blow-by, a fresh air hose, an engine compartment screw set, a battery, battery hold down, a battery terminal disconnect switch, battery tender terminals, a Hurst pit pack, an Edelbrock Performer intake manifold, heater hoses, an upper radiator hose, a thermostat, and many other engine parts. The seller states that the carburetor was cleaned adjusted, the generator was overhauled, the PVC system was repaired in August 2022, and an oil change was completed in June 2023.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Corvette is factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by four-wheel manual drums. A dual exhaust, with new mufflers, exits at the rear. According to the seller, new front springs, and a used spare tire cover have been installed, and the rear axle fluid has been changed to the correct type.
