OVERVIEW
This 1972 Chevrolet El Camino is equipped with a 307cid V8 paired with a three-speed automatic transmission. It offers power steering, air conditioning, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and a vinyl tonneau cover. Finished in pewter and black and equipped with a black vinyl top over a black vinyl and gray cloth interior, this third-generation El Camino comes with a clear title in the seller's name.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior was originally finished in Gulf Green (code 43), but it has been refinished in pewter and black. Features include chrome bumpers, wheel well and rocker trim, a fender-mounted antenna, a driver-side mirror, a black vinyl top, a black vinyl tonneau cover, and tailgate trim. The seller notes a few small bubbles on one of the fenders, a minor scratch, a swirl in the clearcoat, and a stone chip.
EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
The 14-inch front and 15-inch rear slotted aluminum wheels are wrapped in 215/75R14 front and 245/60R15 rear radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The bench seat is upholstered in a combination of black vinyl and gray cloth. Equipment includes manual windows, power steering, air conditioning, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, and a column-mounted automatic transmission shifter. The seller notes that the headliner and carpet require replacement.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
The instrument cluster features a 120-mph speedometer and a fuel gauge. During the current owner's five-year ownership period, they have added approximately 10,000 miles to the vehicle. The odometer has rolled over and currently displays 3,796 miles, which is equivalent to 103,796 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Powering this vehicle is a 307cid V8, mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. The engine bay is equipped with chrome valve covers and cast iron exhaust headers Videos of the engine starting up and running are available below.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The El Camino came from the factory with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is performed by manual four-wheel drum brakes. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear. The seller reports the oil, brakes, and rear-end seal were changed earlier this year.
