RESERVE REMOVED: 1967 Ford Mustang Convertible 289

OVERVIEW

This restored 1967 Ford Mustang convertible is powered by a rebuilt 289cid V8 backed by a rebuilt three-speed automatic transmission. Features include power steering, power front disc brakes, an AM radio, and GTA badges and stripes. Finished in maroon and equipped with a white Robbins power convertible top over a newer ivory vinyl interior, this Mustang comes with engine and transmission rebuild receipts and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

Initially finished in Springtime Yellow (code 8), this Mustang was repainted maroon during the restoration completed in 2002. Features include chrome bumpers, GT fog lights, a Deluxe hood with turn signal indicators, GTA badges and white stripes, a fender-mounted antenna, dual mirrors, a Robbins power white convertible top with a glass rear window, and a GT fuel cap. The seller states that several paint flaws including cracks, polisher burn, and chips on one of the doors are visible and the door glass on both sides has scratches in it.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 14-inch chrome Cragar S/S wheels is wrapped in 205/70R14 radial tires. 

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The front bucket seats and the rear seat were professionally upholstered in ivory vinyl during the restoration process. Features include power steering, manual windows, a center console-mounted automatic transmission shifter, an AM radio, a sport steering wheel with a wood rim, polished aluminum accents, and maroon carpeting. The seller states that the passenger-side carpet was stained by a leaking heater core.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The five-digit odometer reads 5,509, but the seller reports the true mileage figure is 105,509.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 289cid V8 and backed by a three-speed automatic transmission. The seller states that the engine and transmission were rebuilt as part of the restoration. The engine oil and filter were changed at 104,400 miles.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Mustang was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A stainless steel dual exhaust system exits at the rear through quad outlets.
