1972 GMC C1500 3-SPEED

OVERVIEW

This restored 1972 GMC C1500 is powered by a new 350cid V8 backed by a three-speed manual transmission with a new clutch. Features include a new 8-foot bed, new halogen headlights, a sliding rear window, an AM/FM/cassette stereo, a new distributor, new power front disc brakes, and power steering. Finished in black over a black leather interior, this garage-kept GMC comes on consignment from the selling dealer with a four-year engine warranty, documents for the parts installed, and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the restoration, the exterior was finished in black with red side accent stripes. Features include chrome bumpers, a chrome grille, a fender-mounted antenna, dual mirrors, a sliding rear window, a newly installed 8-foot Fleetside pickup box, a drop-in tailgate protector, and tailgate trim.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of steel wheels with full hubcaps is wrapped in Mastercraft radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The bench seat is upholstered in black leather. Features include manual windows, black door panels, power steering, a column-mounted manual transmission shifter, and an AM/FM/cassette stereo.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A 100-mph speedometer, an Equus 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, voltage, and oil pressure are located ahead of the driver. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a new 350cid V8 that has accrued 12 miles; that is backed by a three-speed manual transmission with a new clutch. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers and a black air cleaner. The selling dealer states that the engine comes with a four-year warranty that will be put into the seller’s name. Newly installed parts include the heavy-duty battery, fuel pump, PerTronix electronic ignition, PerTronix heavy-duty coil, and distributor.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This GMC was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by new power front discs and new rear drums. A new factory-style exhaust system was installed in 2022. Newer heavy-duty shocks have been installed and an alignment was recently performed. The undercarriage has been freshly undercoated.
