350-POWERED 1956 CHEVROLET CORVETTE

OVERVIEW

This restored 1956 Chevrolet Corvette is powered by a 350cid V8 backed by a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a front bumper assembly delete, electric windshield wipers, a Wonder Bar AM radio, and a rear bumper-exit exhaust system. Parts replaced during the restoration include the brakes, exhaust, shocks, and tires. Finished in Venetian Red with Beige coves and equipped with an unfinished manual convertible top over a reupholstered red vinyl interior, this garage-kept Corvette comes on consignment from the selling dealer with a repainted body-color removable hardtop, uninstalled side windows, the original 265cid V8, a transmission cooling kit, an extra Wonder Bar radio, vehicle documentation, and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

As part of the restoration process, the exterior was refinished in Venetian Red with Beige coves. Features include removed front bumper assemblies, a driver-side mirror, a body-color convertible top boot, a folding convertible top frame, custom tail lights, and chrome rear bumpers with integrated exhaust outlets. EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of original 15-inch steel wheels with full hubcaps is wrapped in newer whitewall bias-ply tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The bucket seats have been reupholstered in red vinyl with waffle-pattern inserts. Features include manual steering, a floor-mounted Lokar automatic transmission shifter, a Wonder Bar AM radio, and red and white trim.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

The gauges located in the center of the dashboard include a 160-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and readouts for the oil pressure, coolant temperature, and voltage. The odometer reads 13,893 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 350cid V8 equipped with four-bolt mains and backed by a TH350 three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, an aluminum intake manifold, a chrome air cleaner, an electric fan, and tube exhaust headers.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Corvette was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. During the restoration, new manual four-wheel drums, a new slave cylinder, a MagnaFlow dual exhaust system, and new shocks were installed.
