OVERVIEW

This show-ready 1988 Chevrolet R/V 3500 Series crew cab pickup rides on an adaptive Slam Specialties air-ride suspension and a set of one-off 24-inch JTX Forged wheels. It is powered by a Cummins turbodiesel 5.9-liter inline-six mated to a 47RE four-speed automatic transmission and features a modern audio system, a diamond-stitched interior, Vintage Air climate control, and performance upgrades. Finished in black over a saddle leather interior, this custom 3500 is now offered by the selling dealer with a clean CARFAX report and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

The monochromatic black exterior theme was applied to the crew cab body during top-to-bottom refurbishment and customization. Paint finishes have been ceramic coated, and features include quad headlights, color-keyed bumpers and grim, cab lights, dual sideview mirrors, a dually-style box, and smoked lighting throughout.

EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES

Custom 24-inch JTX Forged aluminum wheels include “super single” rears. The entire wheel and tire package reportedly reflected $14,000 of the overall build expense.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The custom cab interior is fitted with saddle leather bucket seats separated by a center console. The rear features a full-width bench, and the door panels, dash, seat belts, and carpeting have been color-keyed. Amenities include a Vintage Air climate control system, a custom steering wheel, tinted and power-operated windows, and a Memphis audio system with a back-up camera and subwoofers.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Modernized instrumentation includes an inoperative 160-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges showing fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage. True mileage on the chassis is unknown, but the most recent logged mileage on the CARFAX was 67,796 miles in 2012.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

The Cummins turbodiesel 5.9-liter 12-valve inline-six was decked and machined during the build. Equipment includes a Spoologic H351 billet turbocharger along with large bowl pistons, Ducky’s 5x12 injectors, a Tork Tek adjustable fuel return bolt, Mack rack plugs, 60-lb valve springs, 4K governor springs, and electric fans. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 47RE four-speed automatic transmission with billet internals and a torque converter.

UNDERCARRIAGE

The suspension consists of Porterbuilt front and rear sections and a Slam Specialties air-ride with either individual controls or combined control.
