OVERVIEW
This reportedly award-winning 1947 Oldsmobile 66 is powered by a 403cid V8 backed by a 2004R four-speed automatic transmission. Features include power front disc brakes, power steering, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD radio, an in-dash DVD player, navigation, a tilt steering column, a 1970s-era GM independent front suspension stub, an electronic ignition, and full fade-away front fenders. Finished in Caribbean Mist over a custom teal and white vinyl interior, this Oldsmobile comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The exterior is finished in a custom PPG color called Caribbean Mist. Features include chrome bumpers with lighted front bumper guards, a chrome grille, halogen headlights with cat-eye covers, a chrome hood ornament, full fade-away front fenders, chrome side trim, dual mirrors, molded rear fenders that were widened by two inches, and a chrome rear splash pan. EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of chrome 17-inch custom wheels with 1954 Oldsmobile dog dish center caps is wrapped in 215/50 front and 255/50 rear Kumho radial tires. The selling dealer states that the front tires were new in the summer of 2020.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The front bench seat, rear bench seat, trim, and door panels are upholstered in custom teal and white vinyl. Features include manual windows, power steering, new wiring, a tilt steering column-mounted automatic transmission shifter, a Pioneer AM/FM/CD radio, an in-dash DVD player, GPS navigation, and a three-spoke steering wheel with a grip that matches the interior.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A set of five Dakota Digital gauges are mounted ahead of the driver. A digital compass, clock, and outside air temperature gauge are located on the glove box door. The odometer reads 5,500 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a late-1970s Oldsmobile 403cid V8 and backed by a 2004R four-speed automatic transmission. When new, the engine produced 185 horsepower and 320 lb-ft of torque. Engine bay features include chrome valve covers, an Edelbrock intake manifold, an Edelbrock 600-cfm carburetor, a chrome air cleaner, a polished stainless steel firewall, a chrome alternator, ceramic-coated tubular block-hugger exhaust headers, and custom spark plug wire covers.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The chassis is equipped with a 1970s-era GM independent front suspension assembly and a solid rear drive axle with 3.11:1 gears. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A new gas tank and new wheel bearings have been installed. A dual exhaust system with electric cut-outs exits at the rear. The selling dealer states that the electric cut-outs need to be repaired. Additionally, they report the ball joints were replaced and a four-wheel alignment was performed in April 2020.
