5.0-POWERED 1965 FACTORY FIVE RACING COBRA 5-SPEED

OVERVIEW

This Factory Five Racing Cobra was built in 2000 and is titled as a 1965 Ford. It is powered by a Ford 5.0-liter Cobra V8 backed by a Toploader five-speed manual transmission. Features include manual steering and four-wheel disc brakes, Stewart Warner gauges, a driver-side roll hoop, and Cobra replica wheels. Finished in silver with black stripes over a black vinyl interior, this Cobra comes from the selling dealer with build documents, a ceramic coating receipt, a black vinyl tonneau cover, and a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the build process, the exterior was finished in silver with black stripes. The paint was treated with an Opti-Coat Pro+ seven-year ceramic coating in May 2022. Features include chrome bumpers, exterior turn signals, a hood scoop with twist locks, side pipes, a chrome windshield frame with tinted visors and windshield wings, a color-keyed driver-side mirror housing, a driver’s roll hoop, and a flip-up fuel filler. EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch aluminum Cobra replica wheels is wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The pair of bucket seats are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include Simpson Racing seat belts, manual steering, a three-spoke steering wheel with a black grip, a floor-mounted manual shifter, a black vinyl dashboard, and black trim.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

The set of Stewart Warner instruments located ahead of the driver includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, oil temperature, and voltage. The odometer reads 12,693 miles, which the selling dealer states reflect the mileage on the chassis.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a Ford 5.0-liter Cobra V8 and backed by a Toploader five-speed manual transmission. According to the selling dealer, the engine, gearbox, and rear end were sourced from a 1993 Ford Mustang in central Maine. Engine bay features include finned aluminum valve covers and a polished fuel injection intake assembly. 

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Cobra is equipped with an independent front suspension with tubular control arms and coil-over shocks and a solid rear drive axle with coil-overs and tubular control arms. Braking is provided by manual four-wheel discs. The exhaust exits through headers and the side pipes.
