OVERVIEW
This restored 1948 Ford Super Deluxe has always been stored in a temperature-controlled environment and is powered by a 302ci Ford V8 bored .030 over backed by a C6 three-speed automatic transmission. Features include shaved door handles with remote keyless entry, molded rear fenders, a power antenna, a JVC AM/FM stereo, a tilt steering column, power bucket seats, power front disc brakes, and a Mustang II-style independent front suspension with power rack-and-pinion steering. Finished in red over a gray and red cloth interior, this Ford comes from the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
During the restoration, the body was finished in red. Features include chrome bumpers, chrome grille trim, shaved body trim, shaved door handles with a remote keyless entry system, dual mirrors, molded rear fenders, a custom fuel door, tunneled tail lights, a shaved trunk lid, and custom accent pinstriping. EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES
A set of chrome steel wheels with chrome dog dish hubcaps is wrapped in whitewall radial tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The power front bucket seats, rear seat, and door panels are upholstered in red and gray cloth. Features include manual windows, power steering, a leather-wrapped Lecarra steering wheel, a floor-mounted Lokar automatic transmission shifter, a custom center console, a JVC AM/FM stereo, and body-color trim.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
A set of Stewart Warner gauges that include a 160-mph speedometer and readouts for the fuel level, voltage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure is located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 2,732 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
Power is provided by a 302ci Ford V8 that has been bored .030 over and is backed by a C6 three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include polished aluminum Ford Racing valve covers, an Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold, a four-barrel carburetor with an electric choke, a chrome air cleaner, an MSD electronic ignition, and a chrome alternator.
UNDERCARRIAGE
This Ford was modified to accept a Mustang II-style independent front suspension and a Ford nine-inch solid rear drive axle with a limited-slip differential. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. A dual exhaust system exits at the rear.
