NO RESERVE: 1963 MG Midget Project 5-Speed

OVERVIEW

This 1963 MG Midget project car is equipped with the rebuilt 1.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine and rebuilt five-speed manual transmission from a 1975 Datsun B210. Features include manual steering, manual front disc brakes, a sport steering wheel, and a heater. EXTERIOR – FEATURES

A set of 13-inch eight-spoke gray aluminum wheels is wrapped in 175/70R13 Douglas radial tires installed in March 2022.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The pair of bucket seats are upholstered in black vinyl. Features include manual steering and windows, a floor-mounted manual transmission shifter, a black dashboard, and black trim.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

The new gauges installed under previous ownership include a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer, and auxiliary readouts. The odometer reads 170 miles, which the seller states reflects the miles logged since the engine and transmission rebuilds in March 2022. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a rebuilt 1.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine and backed by a rebuilt five-speed manual transmission, both of which were sourced from a 1975 Datsun B210. The seller notes that there is some slippage in the clutch. They will include a new slave cylinder for this issue. An oil change was completed in April 2022.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Midget was factory-equipped with an independent front suspension and a solid rear drive axle. Braking is provided by manual front discs and rear drums. A new gas tank was installed under previous ownership. The exhaust exits through a single outlet at the rear.
