408-POWERED 1967 FORD FAIRLANE 500XL

OVERVIEW

This 1967 Ford Fairlane 500XL restomod build was completed in 2022. It is powered by a 408cid V8 backed by a four-speed automatic overdrive transmission. Features include body-color trim and bumpers, a tilt steering column, bucket seats, a center console, four-wheel disc brakes, power steering, Viking coil-overs, and a mini-tubbed rear end. Finished in bronze over a white leather interior, this Fairlane comes on consignment from the selling dealer with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES

During the build process in 2022, the floors, trunk, quarter panels, and firewall were replaced and the body was finished in bronze with black accent stripes. Features include body-color trim and bumpers, updated headlights, black hood scoops, a driver-side mirror, tinted windows with black trim, and tinted taillight lenses. EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

The set of 17-inch front and 15-inch rear Jegs wheels is equipped with staggered-width radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES

The front bucket seats and the rear seat are upholstered in white leather. Features include manual windows, power steering, a center console-mounted automatic transmission shifter, a digital AM/FM stereo, a Grant GT steering wheel, a tan vinyl dashboard top pad, and body-color trim.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

A set of Dakota Digital analog gauges that includes a 160-mph speedometer, an 8,000-rpm tachometer, and readouts for the fuel level, coolant temperature, oil pressure, and voltage are located ahead of the driver. The odometer reads 350 miles, which reflects the mileage since the restoration. The true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a 408cid V8 that began as a 351cid engine and is backed by a four-speed automatic overdrive transmission. Engine bay features include black Ford Racing valve covers and an air cleaner, aluminum heads, an aluminum intake manifold, a Holley Sniper fuel-injection system, a hydraulic-roller COMP Cams Xtreme Energy camshaft, an MSD electronic ignition, a Holley distributor, and an aluminum radiator.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Fairlane is equipped with an independent front suspension with Viking dual-rate coil-overs. The rear end has been mini-tubbed by four inches and is equipped with a solid nine-inch Ford axle with a Yukon Dura Grip limited-slip differential, mounted with a four-link setup and Viking dual-rate coil-overs. Braking is provided by power four-wheel discs. A dual exhaust system with cutouts exits at the rear.
