1964.5 FORD MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE 260

OVERVIEW

This 1964.5 Ford Mustang convertible is an older restoration powered by a rebuilt 260cid V8 backed by a rebuilt C4 three-speed automatic transmission. Newer parts include the interior and exterior chrome trim, weatherstripping, Borgeson power steering, power front disc brakes, wheels, fuel tank, and GT exhaust system. Finished in the original color of Caspian Blue and equipped with a power white convertible top over a newer blue vinyl interior, this Mustang comes from the selling dealer seller with a clear title.

EXTERIOR – FEATURES 

During the restoration, this Mustang was reportedly completely disassembled, refinished in the original color of Caspian Blue (code H) using a basecoat/clearcoat paint system, and equipped with new chrome trim. According to the selling dealer, there are nicks and bubbling in the paint as well as a hairline scratch and chipped paint around one of the headlight bezels. Features include chrome bumpers, a fender-mounted antenna, a driver-side mirror, a newer power white convertible top with newer seals and tack strip, rocker trim, and newer Mustang GT-style rear exhaust outlets.

EXTERIOR - WHEELS AND TIRES

A set of 15-inch styled steel wheels is wrapped in whitewall radial tires.

INTERIOR – FEATURES 

The front bucket seats and the rear seat have been reupholstered in blue vinyl. Features include manual windows, Borgeson power steering, a floor-mounted automatic transmission shifter, and a blue vinyl convertible top boot. The selling dealer states that all of the interior chrome trim was replaced during the restoration process. In addition, they report that there is a small rip in the driver's seat and there are stains in the carpeting.

INTERIOR – GAUGES

Instrumentation consists of a 120-mph speedometer and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. According to the selling dealer, the engine has accrued approximately 25,000 miles since being rebuilt. The true mileage on the vehicle is unknown.

ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION

Power is provided by a rebuilt 260cid V8 and backed by a rebuilt C4 three-speed automatic transmission. Engine bay features include a chrome air cleaner housing and chrome valve covers.

UNDERCARRIAGE

This Mustang is equipped with a rebuilt independent front suspension, a solid rear drive axle, and new rear shocks. Braking is provided by power front discs and rear drums. The selling dealer states that the floors and undercarriage were sandblasted and professionally repainted, and a new fuel tank has been installed.
