OVERVIEW
This imported 1984 Land Rover Defender 90 4x4 sport utility vehicle has been restored and customized inside and out with auxiliary lighting, a roof basket, a snorkel, a winch, a Terrafirma lift kit, all-terrain tires, Braum bucket seats, and a Bluetooth audio system. It is powered by its reportedly original rebuilt 2.5-liter turbodiesel inline-six, which is paired with a five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case. Finished in satin black over a custom black leather interior, this Defender 90 is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The satin black two-door exterior features a push bar, LED front and rear auxiliary lighting, a winch, headlight guards, a hood scoop, tubular side steps, fender flares, a snorkel, a roof-mounted basket, a step ladder, and a rear-mounted full-size spare tire on a swing-away mount.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Five-spoke 16-inch black wheels with Land Rover center caps are wrapped in new 265/75 Centennial Dirt Commander tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The customized interior is furnished with Braum black leather bucket seats up front, matching inboard-facing rear jump seats, diamond-stitched door panels, a center console, and all-weather flooring. Features include tinted windows, wooden cargo area flooring, and a modern eight-inch touchscreen CD/DVD/Bluetooth audio system with a backup camera.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a 150-km/h speedometer and accompanying gauges for the fuel level, coolant temperature, and voltage. The six-digit mechanical odometer reads 274,250 kilometers (about 170,411 miles), although the selling dealer states that the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The reportedly original 2.5-liter turbodiesel inline-six was rated at 107 horsepower and 188 lb-ft of torque when new and has been rebuilt within the last 1,000 miles. Power is directed to all four wheels via a floor-shifted five-speed manual transmission and a dual-range transfer case.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The suspension has been modified with a Terrafirma lift kit.
