OVERVIEW
This 1966 Cadillac DeVille convertible is an older restoration powered by a 429cid big-block V8 mated to a Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatic transmission. Newer parts include the battery, water pump, valve cover gaskets, valve springs, and hydraulic pump for the power-retractable top. Finished in Cobalt Firemist and featuring a white top over an off-white vinyl interior, this third-generation DeVille is now offered by the selling dealer with a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The Cobalt Firemist (code 90) body was treated to restoration under prior ownership and is complemented by a white soft top with a new hydraulic pump. Exterior features include stacked quad headlights, cornering lamps, chrome brightwork, a driver-side mirror, a power antenna, bodyside moldings, and color-keyed rear wheel skirts. Blemishes around the body's perimeter include dings, corrosion on the rear quarters, and a scratch on the passenger-side rocker panel, some of which are shown in the gallery to the right.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Steel wheels with full covers are wrapped in whitewall tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The interior is furnished with off-white vinyl bench seats both front and rear, matched to the door panels and lower dash. Amenities include a six-way power front seat, power steering, Twilight Sentinel controls, power windows, and automatic climate control. The dealer notes that the air conditioning is functioning but the heat is not.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a sweeping 120-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for the fuel level and coolant temperature. The five-digit mechanical odometer has rolled over and reads 124,750 miles, although the true mileage on the chassis is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The 429cid big-block V8 is fed by a four-barrel carburetor and benefits from the replacement of the battery, water pump, belts, hoses, oil pump seals, transmission fluid filter and gasket, valve cover gaskets, and valve springs. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted Turbo-Hydra-Matic three-speed automatic transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
The brake lines and steering gearbox have been replaced. Stopping is performed by power brakes.

@Myoldmetal – hard to see in the underside pictures because of all that undercoating, but looks like rear floor pans have been patched, and perhaps some patching on one of the front pans. Can you confirm? ...
Correct, it appears the rear pans and front driver side pan have been patched.
@Briceton29 – Does the top or trunk leak? ...
We haven’t had any issues with them leaking
