OVERVIEW
This 1967 Cadillac DeVille convertible received about $10,000 in recent mechanical work including service to the suspension, gaskets, fluids, battery, and transmission. It is powered by a 429cid big-block V8 mated to a Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatic transmission. Features include automatic climate control, power front disc brakes, power steering, and a RetroSound radio. Finished in burgundy and equipped with a tan retractable top over a tan vinyl and beige cloth interior, this DeVille is now offered by the selling dealer with service records and a clear title.
EXTERIOR – FEATURES
The color of the exterior has been changed from Summit Gray Metallic (code 18) to burgundy. Features include stacked quad headlights, chrome brightwork, a driver-side mirror, rear fender skirts, and a glass rear window. The dealer states that there are some touched-up areas on the body; the front bumper has a crease in it as shown in the photos to the right.
EXTERIOR – WHEELS AND TIRES
Steel 15-inch wheels with wire hubcaps and Cadillac crests are wrapped in new Coker Classic whitewall tires.
INTERIOR – FEATURES
The reupholstered interior is furnished with tan vinyl and beige cloth bench seats front and rear, matched to the door panels, dash, steering wheel, and lap belts. Features include aluminum trim, power steering, power windows, automatic climate control, a clock, intermittent windshield wipers, a RetroSound radio, a tilt steering wheel, cruise control, a power-adjustable front seat, and a power trunk release. The dealer states that the horn button has cracks in it.
INTERIOR – GAUGES
Instrumentation includes a sweeping 120-mph speedometer, a fuel gauge, and a coolant temperature gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer reads 65,095 miles, but the true mileage on this vehicle is unknown.
ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
The reportedly original 429cid big-block V8 was rated at 340 horsepower when new and is fed by a four-barrel carburetor. It is said to run well and received extensive recent work including the replacement of the power steering pump, steering gearbox, valve cover gaskets, transmission cover gasket, transmission fluid, motor oil, belts, coolant, rear main seal, oil pan gasket, and battery. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a column-shifted Turbo-Hydramatic three-speed automatic transmission.
UNDERCARRIAGE
Stopping is performed by power disc brakes up front and drums in the rear. The ball joints have been replaced.
